Elegant without feeling overly formal, it is a favourite for weddings and special occasions, particularly for Mothers of the Bride and Groom. The Lyra is one of our most recognisable occasion coats and a favourite for weddings, particularly in our Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom collections. Its simple shape also makes it easy to wear beyond the wedding day, from the opera and Cheltenham or Ascot Races to dinners and other special occasions.

The Lyra has a feminine curved collar that complements the neckline, a half belt at the back that shapes the waist, a slightly A-line cut and turn-back cuffs. It measures 42" / 106.6cm in length and looks best worn open. You can find it alongside our other mid length coats, or browse all women’s coats.
Each Lyra coat is available in embroidered silk, raw silk and cashmere, with each fabric offering a distinct finish. All fabrics are designed in-house, with careful attention to colour and placement so they sit well across the shape of the coat.
Embroidered silk introduces pattern, colour and intricate detail. Raw silk has a naturally textured finish and gentle structure that works beautifully with the Lyra’s shape. Our cashmere Lyra coats are a cashmere and silk blend, a softer option particularly suited to cooler days and autumn or winter weddings, while the silks are a lovely choice for spring and summer weddings.
For a classic Shibumi wedding outfit, pair the Lyra with one of our silk shift dresses. Choosing coordinating colours and fabrics creates a beautifully put-together look, while contrasting shades can make the outfit feel more individual.

The Lyra comes in UK sizes 6-26, and our size chart will help you choose. Each coat has a usual lining colour, though this may vary with stock. If you would like a specific lining colour, please contact us before ordering, as this may incur an additional charge of £25.
