Vogue x Shibumi

On Friday, the 9th of December 2022, Savannah Miller  wed James Whewell at a beautiful ceremony at St Peter’s Church, Petersham. Inspired by Arthurian Legend, with touches of the festive season woven in, the day was truly magical.

Savannah the Cotswolds based fashion designer owns the beautiful Savannah Miller Bridal has always been a creative, previously working with Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson after studying at Central St Martins.

Vogue  was there throughout the day reporting on one of the most talked about weddings of the season, and capturing all the meticulously hand-picked pieces that made the day unforgettable.

Savannah started the day in our beautiful Shibumi cashmere dressing gown in Apricot Moon. Pictured here getting the final touches of make-up done by the incredible Wendy Rowe.

You can see in this picture our clever French seams which make all of our dressing gowns reversible. For our apricot moon print the reverse design is eggshell.

The morning wedding rituals are some of the most important of the whole day, getting your hair and make-up done with your nearest and dearest and toasting the next chapter in your life. We feel lucky to have been chosen on so many occasions to be apart of them.

Our gowns are there to wrap yourself in some luxury, be that for a special occasion or something to add into your daily routine, we wanted to create a piece you looked forward to putting on at the end of each day. Each robe is crafted from cashmere & embroidered with delicate patterns of flowers, the symbolic tree of life, and birds.

The cashmere is supremely soft and warm for a cold winter morning, and each gown combines fluid softness with intense colour vibrancy. It's beautiful fluidity and intricacy have firmly cemented its status as a favourite among our team and our Shibumi clients.

The robes are finished with cuffs that can roll and a delicate self-tie belt.

Everyone at Shibumi wishes Savannah and James a lifetime filled with love and happiness.
